Ghosts of Woodwards is inspired by a true historical event in Vancouver Canada in 2002; Woodsquat: Tent-City. At this time over 300 homeless persons and political activists illegally occupied three city blocks of downtown Vancouver for 92 days. This was the longest camp protest ever recorded in North America.

This suspense/drama begins at the Woodwards Tent-City occupation and follows Woodsquat, its aftermath and the lives of two fictitious characters: Destiny Calling and Rattlesnake Chief Feather.

Destiny is a humanitarian interested in helping people get off the streets. She is taken for millions leaving her virtually penniless and needing to piece together her own life. more

Rattlesnake is an indigenous man, homeless by choice - for the sake of the cause, who drifts in character from a man seeking emancipation for his people to a drug & lust-driven extortionist. more

Edward Norton as Rattlesnake

Rattlesnake Chief Feather is an indigenous man, homeless by choice for the sake of the protest, who becomes divided from his morals by addictions and the corruption street drugs bring upon a man's soul. Rattlesnake drifts in character from a man seeking emancipation for his people to an untrustworthy, drug & lust-driven extortionist.

Rattlesnake faces a moral upheaval and by the end of the film [without giving away why or how...] he becomes a reforming individual with a glimpse of his former, more pure soul shining through.

Edward Norton will be great in this role because Rattlesnake is a character with contradictory impulses, a trait in which Edward Norton excels. Edward has the right look for this part and playing a person of a different ancestral descent, may prove a welcome challenge for Edward Norton.

The film points a camera at the lives of persons living in extreme poverty and the experiences of those directly affected by homelessness. Being part of this film project will offer the chance for Norton to expose some true-to-life depictions of disparity felt by this nation's poorest - people whom Edward helps through his many non-profit involvements..

We would like to attach Edward Norton to this project for the role of Rattlesnake Chief Feather.

Jennifer Aniston as Destiny

Destiny is a humanitarian interested in helping people get off the streets and find new lives. With investors and a network of resources backing her, she sets out to do just that, but is taken for all the money in her charitable account by a corrupt bank manager and a couple unlikely accomplices.

Destiny continues in work for the cause of housing the homeless in the downtown eastside, only to be betrayed by the persons she is trying to help. This leaves her virtually penniless (and pregnant) and needing to piece together her own broken life.

Heartbroken, Destiny tackles her conflicts and overcomes them through the help of some good people on Sacred Island. Later she is given a new chance to assist destitute women rebuild their lives, but as some old players from Woodwards resurface, she faces the risk of losing it all again. Only this time the wager is her money and her small child.

We would like to attach Jennifer Aniston to Ghosts of Woodwards for the part of Destiny Calling.

Jennifer Aniston is great for this role because she is grounded and is establishing new heights of maturity throughout her career and life experiences. She has the right look for the part and she has demonstrated a proven determination to make a difference in the lives of less fortunate people with her involvement in various non-profit organizations.

Jennifer is musically inclined and Destiny is a musician. We would like the opportunity to present the dynamic role to Ms. Aniston which would require our beautiful star to learn to play the djembe! - a welcome challenge for Ms. Aniston?

Ghosts of Woodwards is shocking and impacting, but also uplifting and hope-driven.

Brad Pitt as Chad??

Chad is a Rastafarian-turned-business man who has a secret sinister side.

He is a close friend of Destiny's and has been part of all her charitable work including the orphanage in Africa, the housing initiative for people living at Woodwards and for the latter Relocation to Recovery project for women.

He is there for Destiny, but his secret eventually catches up with them and jeopardizes every effort she has ever made including the life of her child!

...Wouldn’t it be great to see Brad Pitt team up with Edward Norton again?? We all loved them in Fight Club! Am I right?!! -- I am so right!

Brad Pitt is an incredible person, actor and producer. He would be a wonderful pick for the notorious character of Chad in this film.

We've considered that Brad Pitt would enjoy being involved in this film production because Pitt loves people. He has proven his devotion to the homeless with his extensive and compassionate efforts rebuilding New Orleans - after Hurricane Katrina ousted 1000s of innocent citizens and families from their homes.

Ghosts of Woodwards points the camera [and our hearts] toward the gritty reality faced by persons living in extreme poverty here in North America. Brad Pitt's anticipated involvement in this film will show once again that he is a man who cares for everyday people!

Bette Midler as Natalie Green

Natalie Green is a down-to-earth, kind woman who runs a bed and breakfast on Sacred Island. She is a mother of grown children, but is eternally youthful and friendly. The writer saw Bette Midler’s face, when she wrote Natalie's character into the story.

Natalie befriends Destiny during Destiny's greatest time of need and proves a great support to her throughout the movie. Natalie is a Christian enthusiast who tries unsuccessfully to persuade Destiny to shift her life into the Christian direction. This sparks an occasional (yet comedic) conflict between Rasta-spirited Destiny and trying-so-hard-to-be-kind Natalie.

Natalie is a good friend and although she can be a little meddling, she supports Destiny through her life while the mystery of embezzlement, corruption and kidnapping plays itself out.

With Bette Midler’s Las Vegas tour wrapping up soon, its a perfect time for her to become involved in this film production. Bette is absolutely stunning and is perfect for the supporting female role: the lovely Ms. Natalie Green.

Another reason Bette Midler is perfect for this project is because of her extensive musical talent. Rattlesnake does a brief musical performance of Bob Marley in the film and Destiny performs a few times in the story. Having someone of Bette’s musical caliber on the set would be inspirational and encouraging for the others.

One final reason we are choosing to consult Bette Midler about this project is because she is a powerful, influential woman. This screenplay was written by a woman and the lead role is to be played by a woman and it would be wonderful to complement these attributes with high level involvement of a successful woman such as (and none other than) Bette Midler.

Zac Efron as Roger

Roger is a friend of Rattlesnake. He is a pothead activist hanging out at Woodwards whose addictions begin as "fun" but quickly evolve to harder street drugs. His lifestyle is destructive and eventually Roger faces a tragic end.

Oxygen would like to attach Zac Efron for this smaller supportive role. Roger's character and lifestyle is somewhat hardcore and is contraversial compared to the nice-guy, upstanding characters Zac has portrayed in his career.

We believe, even though this is a smaller role, the part would catapult Zac into a full new arena of work opportunities for the future.

We believe Zac Efron has the talent and the tenacity to pull it off.

Maurice

Maurice is a friend of Rattlesnake Chief Feather. He is an eccentric wheelchair-bound amputee with unusual, but interesting life experiences to speak of and absurd lies as well.

He lives at Woodsquat, but remains fully interactive with Rattlesnake and Destiny during the duration of the story following the protest. Maurice has has a creepy side and although seemingly trustworthy at first, Maurice becomes one of the most likely persons to be involved in the extortion of funds from Destiny's charitable funds.

Later when that embezzler is caught and indicted, Tyrone and Falcon invest once more in Destiny's newest project - only to risk losing it all again to the schemers who have masterminded the exploitation from the beginning.
