Ghosts of Woodwards is inspired by a true historical event in Vancouver Canada in 2002; Woodsquat: Tent-City. At this time over 300 homeless persons and political activists illegally occupied three city blocks of downtown Vancouver for 92 days. This was the longest camp protest ever recorded in North America.
This suspense/drama begins at the Woodwards Tent-City occupation and follows Woodsquat, its aftermath and the lives of two fictitious characters: Destiny Calling and Rattlesnake Chief Feather.
Destiny is a humanitarian interested in helping people get off the streets. She is taken for millions leaving her virtually penniless and needing to piece together her own life. more
Rattlesnake is an indigenous man, homeless by choice - for the sake of the cause, who drifts in character from a man seeking emancipation for his people to a drug & lust-driven extortionist. more
Edward Norton as Rattlesnake
Rattlesnake Chief Feather is an indigenous man, homeless by choice for the sake of the protest, who becomes divided from his morals by addictions and the corruption street drugs bring upon a man's soul. Rattlesnake drifts in character from a man seeking emancipation for his people to an untrustworthy, drug & lust-driven extortionist.
Rattlesnake faces a moral upheaval and by the end of the film [without giving away why or how...] he becomes a reforming individual with a glimpse of his former, more pure soul shining through.
Edward Norton will be great in this role because Rattlesnake is a character with contradictory impulses, a trait in which Edward Norton excels. Edward has the right look for this part and playing a person of a different ancestral descent, may prove a welcome challenge for Edward Norton.
The film points a camera at the lives of persons living in extreme poverty and the experiences of those directly affected by homelessness. Being part of this film project will offer the chance for Norton to expose some true-to-life depictions of disparity felt by this nation's poorest - people whom Edward helps through his many non-profit involvements..
We would like to attach Edward Norton to this project for the role of Rattlesnake Chief Feather.
